Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
Counselor of Faculty Staff Assistance Program (FSAP) provides assessment, referral and counseling and coaching to all full and part-time faculty, staff and their immediate family members and retirees. Individual and departmental consultations are also provided, generally in regard to workplace issues. Administrative assistance is also provided to the program
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Master’s degree from an accredited University in either Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Social Work, or other degrees meeting eligibility requirements for a licensure.
Experience:
At least 5 years of directly related experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- In addition to skills listed under Education, the Counselor must have the administrative skills necessary to administer an employee assistance program, including report writing, computer abilities, including an ability to work with spreadsheets, knowledge of databases and word processing.
- Public speaking and writing skills are essential.
- Organizational development skills are also necessary to assist departments in addressing problems from a larger systems perspective.
- The ability to type letters, file and schedule appointments without the aid of an administrative assistant.
Other Required Qualifications:
Currently licensed to practice in Maryland as a Psychologist, Professional Counselor (LCPC), or Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-C).
